Stanislaus River Valley power comes from three primary suppliers: Modesto Irrigation District (MID), (TID), and Pacific, Gas & Electric (PG&E). PG&E is also the supplier of the area’s natural gas. Both MID & TID are publicly owned, nonprofit utility providers, and because of this can offer reliable service at the lowest cost possible. They offer competitive electrical rates, which are among the lowest in California.

In telecommunications, the Stanislaus River Valley offers digital and fiber-optic networks, as well as local and regional phone service provided through the SBC Network. Private carriers serve some of the outlying communities.
