Pedro Rivera, C&M Expansions International Group, a consulting and engineering firm in the food processing equipment business contacted the Alliance Economic Development Department when he was looking to expand operations from Gilroy to Oakdale. At the same time he was working with the Economic Development staff, the Alliance Small Business Development Center was assisting him with the preparation of his business plan and SBA 504 loan application. After a few months he was up and running.

Much of the SBDC’s assistance is educational in nature designed to help entrepreneur’s make the decisions that lead to financial and personal success.

The SBDC assists new and existing businesses in a variety of ways through confidential business consulting, comprehensive managerial training, business plan development and research assistance. The goal of the SBDC is to identify problems before they start. It is the dream of many Americans to start and operate their own business, and the Alliance Small Business Development Center is just the resource to help make that dream come true.
